AFAS Live’s Circular Cup Return System: Here’s How It Works
AFAS Live aims to collect and recycle 100% of plastic cups and bottles separately. We need your help to make this happen! Together, we can prevent waste of valuable resources and reduce CO2 emissions. We use a circular cup system, and all cups and bottles should be returned to the bar or another collection point. Here’s how it works.
How does the return system work?
- Upon entry, you will receive a wooden coin, known as a return token.
- When you hand in this token at the bar, you’ll receive a cup or bottle.
- Remember to return your empty cup or bottle to the bar when getting a new drink.
IMPORTANT: Cups, bottles, or return tokens cannot be exchanged for money.
What if I’ve lost my cup, bottle, or return token?
If you lose your cup, bottle, or return token, you can pay €1* for a replacement.
*No refunds are available.
Don’t want your cup or bottle anymore?
Exchange it at the bar for a return token, which you can use to get a new cup or bottle at any time.
What should I do when I leave?
When leaving, return your cup, bottle, or token to the bar or the designated collection points at the exit. This allows us to reuse the return tokens for other events, recycle the cups and bottles, and work together to make AFAS Live more sustainable.
Why use this return system?
This system collects rPET cups and bottles separately, keeping them clean for effective recycling and reuse of the material.
What is rPET?
Our cups are made from rPET, a recycled material sourced from previously used plastic products, such as soft drink bottles. The cups we collect are recycled into new products. This system prevents resource waste and helps reduce CO2 emissions.
