The Circular Cup Return System at AFAS Live: Here’s How It Works

AFAS Live aims to collect and recycle 100% of plastic cups and bottles separately. We need your help as a visitor. Together, we can ensure that we don’t waste resources and reduce CO2 emissions. We work with a circular cup system, and all cups and bottles must be returned to the bar or another collection point. Below, we explain how it works.

How Does the Return System Work?

As a visitor, you will receive a wooden token, known as a return token, at the entrance.

When you return this token at the bar, you will receive one cup or bottle.

Always return your empty cup or bottle at the bar when you get a new drink.

IMPORTANT: A cup, bottle, or return token cannot be exchanged for cash.

Help! I Lost My Cup, Bottle, or Return Token

If you lose your cup, bottle, or return token, you can pay €1* for a new one.
*No refunds available.

What If I’m Tired of My Cup or Bottle?

You can exchange it at the bar for a return token, allowing you to get another cup or bottle at any time.

What Should I Do When I Leave?

When you’re leaving, please return your cup, bottle, or return token at the bar or at the designated collection points by the exit. This way, the return tokens can be reused at another event, and the cups and bottles can be recycled, helping us all make AFAS Live more sustainable.

Why This Return System?

This return system ensures that the rPET cups and bottles are separated from the rest of the waste and collected as cleanly as possible so that the material can be effectively reused.

What Is rPET?

Our cups are made from rPET, which is recycled plastic from previously made plastic products such as soda bottles. The cups we collect are recycled and reused for new products. This return system prevents the waste of resources and also reduces CO2 emissions.
