FunX Awards
After 11 years, FunX is retiring the name FunX Music Awards. The event will continue as the FunX Awards, as announced today by FunX DJ Fernando Halman on his morning show. Over the years, the awards show has grown into more than just a music event: it’s now a celebration of culture. This year, the FunX Awards will take place on Monday, June 9, at AFAS Live in Amsterdam, with Fernando hosting the ceremony.
Ticket sales for the FunX Awards will start on April 7 via funx.nl/awards. Last year, the awards show sold out quickly. FunX listeners will have the chance to win tickets through various promotions in the coming weeks.
New Categories
The public will decide who takes home a FunX Award: from Monday, May 12, listeners can vote for their favorite artists via funx.nl/awards. The awards will be presented in 13 categories, including Artist of the Year, Best Song, Best Album, and new categories such as Best Content Creator and Best Live Act.
FunX Power Award
The award show also provides a platform for social issues that FunX supports throughout the year. For the sixth time, the FunX Power Award will be presented, honoring someone or an organization that has made a significant societal contribution to the FunX audience. Previous winners include the Moroccan national football team, Tim Hofman, Défano Holwijn, and Akwasi. Last year, the show highlighted the plight of the Palestinian people.
About the FunX Awards
The FunX Awards are the premier music awards for young people in the Netherlands, recognizing the best songs, albums, and artists from the local scene. This year marks the 12th edition of the awards. The winners are determined by the audience of NPO FunX, who can vote for their favorite artists from May 12 to June 9 via funx.nl/awards. The winners will be announced at the award show on June 9 at AFAS Live.

Cashless Payment
At AFAS Live, you can only pay with your debit card or credit card. This is available at all bars and food stands in our venue. The advantage? You don’t need to withdraw cash in advance. You can make cashless payments using Maestro, VISA, or Mastercard.
