Young Impact Day
Youth event
On June 1, 2023, Young Impact Day was held at AFAS Live. Young Impact Day is an annual event dedicated entirely to the positive impact made by young people.
The night before the event, a group of about forty youths slept outside on Johan Cruijff Boulevard in Sheltersuits to raise awareness for the growing homeless population in the Netherlands.
Youth participants, mainly high school and vocational students, earned tickets to Young Impact Day by making a difference for others throughout the school year. Activities included organizing a game day for children in an asylum seekers’ center and creating art focused on mental health.
Upon arrival, all attendees walked through the “Impact Street,” set up in our Talent Stage, where they could recycle old phones and participate in “speed dates” with elderly guests.
They then entered our Black Box, where a spectacular final show awaited. The event featured performances and speeches by artists like Maan and Claude, alongside inspiring stories shared by young impact makers. The whole crowd joined in recording a TikTok challenge, adding to the excitement.
It was a day filled with positivity and meaningful impact that we’ll remember for a long time!
