World Padel Tour
Sports tournament
The World Padel Tour (WPT), the Champions League of padel, has set up its court at AFAS Live in Amsterdam. Over five days, approximately 30,000 spectators visit our venue. The Black Box arena is configured with an "in the round" grandstand surrounding the central padel court. Additionally, the Talent Stage on the first floor is transformed into an exclusive VIP area, Restaurant First is turned into a sports bar, and the entrance and foyer are filled with various partner booths for visitors to explore.
Tournament director John van Lottum received a compliment on Wednesday from Arturo Coello, the world’s number one player from Spain. "He said he thought it was an incredible venue. Nowhere else on the WPT circuit do the stands fill up so quickly, even for the first round," Coello noted. "Even the world's top players are amazed by this place."
According to Van Lottum, the Amsterdam event is larger and more professional than last year when it was held at a different venue. "It’s incredible how fast this sport is growing in the Netherlands," he added.
