Lucky's Winterfestival

kids event

Nearly 5,000 members of the Ajax Supporters Association gathered at AFAS Live on December 18 for an event that brought warmth and joy to the winter season: Lucky’s Winter Festival! The Black Box and Talent Stage were transformed with a variety of activities into a paradise for children, with plenty of entertainment for adults as well. From photos with Lucky and Santa to indoor sledding and bouncing on inflatables—it was all possible!

The event concept arose from the idea of capturing the true Ajax spirit during the winter break, a time that’s often dark and chilly. It was time for a day packed with activities and fun to make Ajax fans' hearts race. Members of the supporters association were invited to a free winter festival close to home.

On December 18, two sessions, each with 2,500 attendees, were held, primarily aimed at Ajax’s youngest fans. The Talent Stage was set up with activities for kids aged 0 to 5, including face painting, a DJ, soft soccer, bounce houses, a carousel, and a ball pit. In the Black Box, the eight-meter-tall Christmas tree served as a major focal point, surrounded by various activities. Visitors could play a game of FIFA with an Ajax eSports player or enjoy trampolines. A VR photo booth allowed fans to capture themselves alongside Ajax heroes, and they could even pose with trophies like the Champions League and World Cup. Other features included a silent documentary corner and a coloring station.

The event was named after its honored guest: Lucky, the cheerful lynx who has been Ajax’s mascot since 2000.
