The huge Theuns Jordaan Tribute concert, performed at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria and the DHL Stadium in Cape town front of crowds of over 25,000, is coming to Amsterdam on August 9, 2025.

The Theuns Jordaan Tribute brings together the cream of South Africa's artists in the Afas Live Arena in Amsterdam to pay tribute to the iconic Theuns Jordaan.

Steve Hofmeyr, Juanita du Plessis, Kurt Darren, Ray Dylan, Dozi, Bobby van Jaarsveld, Karlien van Jaarsveld, Ricus Nel, Jay du Plessis, Gerhard Steyn, Liezel Pieters, Dewald Wasserfal, Jacques du Plessis and Bok van Blerk lead the tribute.

All the performing artists were close to Theuns' heart. They are going to relive Theuns' songs in an world-class large-scale production which will be handled by seasoned producers Deedee and Floors Oostuizen as well as Murray Lubbe in collaboration with Theuns' long-time friend Jacques du Plessis.

Du Plessis, who performed with Theuns for almost fifteen years, says that the concert is extremely precious to them and it is a great privilege to be able to present it in Amsterdam. "The artists who are part of the production are very excited and the public's reaction is absolutely overwhelming. 

"We are all in total wonder and awe at the influence Theuns had on so many millions of people. His legacy is extensive," says Du Plessis.

"It's a very special concert. We realise what a massive responsibility rests on us to honour Theuns' legacy. We're not going to hold back. It will be a massive production and concert, like it was at Loftus Versfeld and at the DHL Stadium. 

"It was special at Loftus and in the Cape Town Stadium and it will be something that Amsterdam will also remember for a very long time."

Du Plessis says fans can expect to hear Theuns' popular "party songs", as well as songs that flowed from his pen in the early years of his career. 

"The artists who are part of the production are the ones who walked Theuns' life path with him and really held him close to their heart. 

Bobby van Jaarsveld, in whose career Theuns played a significant role, says it is a great honour for him to be part of the Tribute. "Theuns was an exceptional person and friend. I am very excited to be back on stage with these artists and for such a special occasion."

The special one-off mass concert will appropriately remember and celebrate the life and music of the legendary Theuns Jordaan.
